DIANA CALENTI - Actress/Choreographer

Few artists in our time have become legendary figures in foreign lands. Diana’s stunningly original creations in dance and her powerful dramatic stage presence have contributed to her hypnotic power over audiences. Her affinity to Egypt is unexplained and unexplainable. Born in San Francisco, raised in New York City, she has resided in Canada for over a decade. In Egypt where she is subject of extra-ordinary adulation. she performed at the Cairo Opera House & the Gomhouriya Theater for many years. She taught her own creation, Egyptian Ballet, at the American University in Cairo and worked for the Egyptian Ministry of Culture in choreographing and creating new shows for the national Egyptian Folkloric troupes. Her story, her dance, her talent, have become a legend in her own time.

BRETT HALSEY - Actor

SEARCH FOR DIANA is the latest of the more than sixty feature motion pictures in which Brett Halsey has starred. In the 60’s he made films like THE RETURN OF THE FLY, DESIRE IN THE DUST, RETURN TO PEYTON PLACE for 20th Century Fox. He then went to Italy and starred in 30 films such as SEVEN SWORDS FOR THE KING. He returned to Hollywood to star in the TV Soaps GENERAL HOSPITAL & THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and movies like WHERE DOES IT HURT. In 1990 he played opposite Diane Keaton in Francis Ford Coppola’s GODFATHER III.

MILAD BESSADA - Producer/Director

Milad Bessada’s first Theatrical Feature Film was A QUIET DAY IN BELFAST, which won the Best Actress award for its star, Margot Kidder, in the Canadian Film Awards in 1974. In television, he produced and directed the most successful Canadian Comedy series of all time: SCTV; Second City Television, which launched the careers of many Film Stars such as John Candy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’hara, Andrea Martin etc.. He directed many of the most successful programs in Canadian Television in drama & other genres. SEARCH FOR DIANA takes him back to his roots. He started his TV & film career in Cairo Egypt in the early sixties after graduating from Cambridge University in England.

OMAR KHAYRAT - Composer

Omar Khayrat is one of Egypt’s most talented composers. He studied music at the Cairo Conservatory of Music and Trinity College of Music in London, England. Since 1979 eight Albums of his original work have been produced and he wrote the music score for 30 feature films. While his contemporary music is appealing to the Western ear, it also incorporates the haunting sounds heard along the banks of the Nile from the time of the ancient Pharaohs.

JAN FILIPS - Actor

Jan Filips has worked in most theatres across Canada. He played ORSINO in TWELFTH NIGHT, JOHN LANDIS in 5th OF JULY and ARAMIS in THE THREE MUSKETEERS. In film, Jan played PAUL in Claude Jutra’s BY DESIGN, DR. DIAMOND in THRESHOLD and GREG DUBOIS in CROSSBAR.

Corinee Conley has starred in Films, Television and Theatre in Canada, the U.S. and Britain. She starred in the TV Soap DAYS OF OUR LIVES from 1973 to 1981. In movies she starred in CALHOUN, OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE, NIGHT CHILDREN, TI-COQ, THE LOVES OF COUNTY YORGA.
